Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) -The Quran is the principle source of every Muslim’s faith and practice, but its basic theme is the relationship between God and His creatures and provides guidelines for a just society, proper human conduct and equitable economic principles. For next 100 days we are presenting some short articles on ethical issues that have been written based on the verses of Quran.
One of the best things I have learned in life is to obey God quickly. When God asks you to do it, do it right then. He almighty says: “And hasten towards your Lord's forgiveness and a paradise as vast as the heavens and the earth, it has been prepared for the righteous”. (Qur’an; 3:133) And who are righteous? He says: they are “The ones who spend in prosperity and adversity, and who repress anger, and who pardon the people; … And those who, if they commit any evil, or wrong themselves, they remember God and seek forgiveness for their sins”. (Quran; 3:134-135)
When God asks you to do something, do not overanalyze it. Do not reason it out. If you think about it too long, you can miss your destiny. Do not think, “Why should I buy their dinner? They have got more than I do”. “Why should I apologize? I apologized first last time”. “Why should I be good to them? They are not being good to me.” No, quit making excuses. Quit reasoning it out. Quit thinking that you heard God wrong and just do it. Learn to be quick to obey and open the door for the blessing God has in store for you.
God says: “Therefore, you shall race towards forgiveness from your Lord and a Paradise whose width encompasses the heaven and the earth. It awaits those who believed in God and His messengers. Such is God's grace that He bestows upon whomever He wills. God is Possessor of Infinite Grace.” (Quran; 57:21) If you want to grab a win, so obey quickly. Trust that God is good and desires good things for you.
